Dallas, TX February 17, 2016 – FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest-growing provider of business technology turnaround and leadership services, announced today that award-winning CIO Steve Bergman has joined the Mid-Atlantic practice of Fortium Partners. Bergman brings more than 25 years of experience taking on extraordinary challenges in diverse industries like healthcare, non-profit, technology and federal government.
Prior to joining Fortium, Bergman was CIO of Easter Seals, the nation’s largest healthcare services non-profit, where he drove national health IT strategy, platforms and standards. Before Easter Seals, Bergman was CIO of Goodwill Industries International, where he led this $4 billion company through a cultural transformation in IT maturity, advancing growth, market share and revenue while facilitating a sustained 10% annual growth model. Before Goodwill, he was a consulting director for International Network Services, where he was selected by the Bush Administration to lead the Ready.gov initiative for the White House’s high-profile public campaign for citizen preparedness immediately following the attacks of 9/11. Bergman was awarded CIO Magazine’s CIO 100 Award for innovation and growth for deploying a national collaboration system for Goodwill’s 80,000 employees.
Easter Seals and Goodwill share a lot in common as large, national non-profits that enhance dignity and quality of life for people in need. Taking on the challenge of bringing together thousands of employees, volunteers and community organizers via creative technology platforms isn’t just a career, it’s a calling,” said Tim McCracken, Fortium Chairman and CEO. “Steve has gained significant notoriety in the technology leadership community because he is a CIO who works relentlessly to find ways to ensure technology is driving much needed revenue, even if it requires unusual methods. His technology strategies breathe life into an organization.”
“No matter the industry or financial model of the company there’s always a way to transform how an organization uses information to drive revenue and cultivate business success,” said Bergman. “I really enjoy developing strategies for businesses that are ready to move to the next level, no matter what barriers they may perceive. I love that Fortium Partners focuses on that, and I’m proud to be a part of the team.
Earlier in his career, Bergman was a consultant with KPMG Federal Advisory and an engineer with The National Institutes of Health. He is a board member and advisor of multiple organizations including the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum and multiple technology startups.
Bergman holds an MS in computer systems management from the University of Maryland.
