Chandini Portteus has resigned as president and chief executive of the Livestrong Foundation 10 months after being named to lead the Texas-based cancer charity, the Dallas Morning News and the Austin American-Statesman report. Greg Lee, the foundation’s veteran chief financial officer, will take the helm, with the title of president.
Ms. Portteus, formerly an executive with breast-cancer nonprofit the Susan G. Komen Foundation, said in a statement Tuesday that she was leaving Livestrong “in order to focus on my family.” She was appointed in March 2015, six months after longtime Livestrong leader Doug Ulman announced his departure. The latest leadership changes come as the foundation struggles with plunging revenue precipitated by the doping scandal involving its founder, ex-cycling champion Lance Armstrong.
