Strategy

As digital executives, we all start many initiatives. It is also true that some lose steam. Some for a reason and other times for no good reason at all.

One overlooked aspect of all sustainable initiative is what is called “governance”. I must admit I’ve not always been a fan of governance. When done well, it can be helpful, particularly when it comes to setting goals, developing strategy and assuring accountability for results.

When not done well, it is bureaucratic exercise in how creative you can get at saying “NO”! It is death by a thousand questions and form completing.

It is important to have a content strategy. It is important that it is sustainable. No point in starting a strategy and not sustaining it.

Consider do you have proper governance and assess will that help sustain the initiatives.

An important, and often overlooked, component of content strategy—governance. This means establishing internal workflows and editorial procedures to ensure content is consistent, high-quality, and aligned with your goals; and most importantly, that your content strategy efforts are sustainable in the long term.
