My guess is, I need one more thing on the list.
Change isn’t easy. Culture is in many cases undefined but well understood. Spending time understanding how employees and customers actually see it is instructive. Doing the tough things to make it what I want is worth it.
It is easier for me to focus on strategy than culture. The payoff to changing the culture is infinitely higher for culture change than strategy execution.
What we believe (culture) has a very lasting impact on what we all do. What I do every day rules business results.
The culture will be my legacy.
